The Interactive Performance Development
Programme (IPDP) is a state of the art,
electronic web-based solution which will assist
Vehicle Manufacturers and Importers to optimise
the performance of their dealer networks.
Production of meaningful management information
which can be acted upon in real time, as opposed
to historical data which is soon obsolete, is a
fundamental differentiator of IPDP. It is no longer
acceptable to wait a month or more, in order to
analyze trading information and take business decisions
based on what has happened in a business in preceding
months; in the present dynamic business environment,
it is vital that a delinquent performance or declining
trend is recognized immediately, so that appropriate
remedial action may be taken before opportunities
are lost or costs escalate.
This situation is often exacerbated in dealerships
by the fact that a dealer may be aware that there
is something wrong within his business but does
not have access to the procedures and tools to take
appropriate corrective action.
IPDP has been developed with this scenario in mind.
The structured system and focused approach enables
specialists working with network dealers to add
genuine value to their regular dealer visits, by
creating an intelligent agenda and pinpointing issues
that require attention.
Individual dealer performance is compared to agreed
objectives as well as benchmark or upper-quartile
performance by using 18 to 20 recognized key performance
indicators for each department. The IPDP will automatically
generate a value gap between the benchmark or target
performance and individual dealer performance. Thus,
areas requiring attention within the various dealerships
will be identified and prioritized.
Production of dealer performance reports is reliant
upon a monthly data extract, direct from the Dealer
Management System.
The IPDP has been designed with simplicity of
use and ease of navigation in mind. Dealer trading
results are presented as key performance indicators
on a trading report spreadsheet. The key performance
indicators are ranked from worst performance to
best.
By "clicking" on any of the key performance
indicators listed in the trading report, the specialist
will be directed to an explanation of the specific
key performance indicator. Furthermore, a selection
of best practice business processes which impact
upon the relevant key performance indicator will
be produced automatically. These processes are sorted
into basic procedures, advanced procedures and indirect
procedures.
The specialist will be able to select up to three
procedures at a time, for dealership implementation.
Once the procedures have been selected, the IPDP
will also automatically produce a list of tools
necessary to support the implementation of the procedures.
The procedures and tools can be emailed to the dealer
in the form of an agenda / action plan in advance
of the pending dealer visit.
